EBA CLEARING launches MyBank Technical Pilot

European e-merchants welcome progress made on implementation of a pan-European OBeP solution

EBA CLEARING announced today at the Global E-Commerce Summit in Barcelona the start of its MyBank Technical Pilot. Banks from Austria, France, Greece, Italy and Luxembourg will participate in the technical testing, which will take place from June to October 2012.

In co-operation with merchants, customers, integrators and routing service providers involved in the testing, the Pilot Banks will ensure that the different components of MyBank work together seamlessly and give an excellent enduser experience before the solution is rolled out to the market in early 2013. The proper functioning of the solution will be tested both at a national and at a crossborder level.

“We welcome the progress made on the implementation of MyBank,” said Wijnand Jongen, Member of the Executive Committee, Ecommerce Europe. “The European e-merchant community is eagerly awaiting an online banking based e-payment solution that will work at a pan-European level. We look forward to sharing its key benefits, such as high security levels, with customers across Europe.”

“The start of the MyBank Technical Pilot marks a major step towards the rollout of the solution in early 2013,” said John Broxis, Director at EBA CLEARING. “The future users of MyBank are now able to test the functionalities and usability of the solution and confirm that all processes work smoothly in a practical context.”

In a first phase, MyBank will support the initiation of SEPA Credit Transfers via browser-based applications. A mobile application and functionality supporting the creation or modification of e-mandates for SEPA Direct Debits are planned to follow later in 2013.
